"Have you ever wondered what it is like to live in the middle of the ocean when you have more than 2,000 km from the nearest inhabited island?

Rapa Nui (the Polynesian name of the island meaning „great land”) belongs to the most isolated places in the world. Everybody who has been fascinated with massive moai statues dreams about visiting it. A place with a tragic history whose traces can be seen today. In the only city of Hanga Roa you will see traditional dance shows and unearthly sunset at Ahu Tahai. The only airport once served as a spare airstrip for spacecraft. A walk among the palms on Anakena beach, sunrise on the longest platform of Ahu Tongariki, volcano craters and hiking on a suddenly abandoned quarry in which statues were made – these are just some of the places and moments to which I return my thoughts most often. A place that is not easy to reach but is absolutely worth experiencing.”
