Ania Cieślak / BUDAPEST

Episodic digital nomad. Eight months in Chile, four in the US, recently several weeks in Portugal. To work, she needs a laptop and good wifi, so she visits the world, which is still so much to discover. She shares her travel experiences on the notravelnofun.com blog.

"One of the most interesting attractions of Budapest, right next to the night cruise on the Danube, is a several-hour walk with a guide to Erzsébetváros - a Jewish district that is vibrant with life and alternative culture.

What gives us such a walk, besides a lot of curiosities that we will not find in the guidebook? We can see and learn the history of the most important murals in the city, including the oldest in Hungary, see the third largest synagogue in the world, visit local handicraft shops, bookshops, galleries and a tattoo exhibition. Find out that urban art in Budapest is not only murals, but also countless stickers affecting important political and social issues. It’s worth spending the afternoon this afternoon in the iconic hostel-pub Szimpla Kert, which is the icing on the cake when it comes to the alternative culture of Budapest.”
